Actionaz: A Powerful Task Automation Tool for Ubuntu

Actionaz is a cross platform task automation tool to create and sequentially executes lists of actions  that you need to perform repeatedly. It has been developed in C++ and uses the Qt framework.

Actionaz is feature rich task automation tool. It allows you to automate actions that act upon the windowing system of the operating system. It also allows you to automate actions that act upon computer devices. Likewise , the actions that act upon the operating system, script execution and data can also be automated by it.

All action lists you create in Actionaz are called Actionaz scripts and all the actions are sequentially executed. You can enable or disable actions by clicking on checkboxes.  A line number or a label is assigned to every action as its identification. A parameter list and an optional commentary can also be specified for each and every action. ]

You can also specify a pause duration before and after the action is executed.  Similarly, you can also specify timeout durations for all the actions.

Actionaz is available for Ubuntu and Windows. Binary packages of actionaz for Windows and Ubuntu can be downloaded from the link given at the end of the post.

You can install Actionaz in Ubuntu 11.10 and 11.04 via its official PPA. All you need to do is  run the following commands in the terminal.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:adri2000/actionaz

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install actionaz

Actionaz also comes with an app-indicator that allows you to execute the whole list of automated actions, selection of automated actions and stop the execution process.
