Create Launcher: Create Custom Launchers on Ubuntu Unity
Create Launcher is a new application that allows you to create custom launchers on Unity of Ubuntu 11.10 or higher for certain applications , scripts, which don’t have representative launchers in Unity Dash.
Create Launcher is easy to use utility that comes with range of simple to advanced functions. With Create Launcher , you can create launchers in Ubuntu Unity Dash to open applications that were not installed through Ubuntu Software Center, web applications, Wine applications, applications with NVIDIA Optimus (Bumblebee) technology and so on. Likewise you can also create launchers in Ubuntu unity dash to open any application in terminal and even open applications and folders with root privileges. You can also create launcher in Ubuntu Dash to open a commandline command.
Create Launcher also allows you to categorize the created custom launcher to specific type in Ubuntu Unity Dash. You can add tags for the created custom launchers for fetching and accessing them quickly. You can also make applications to launched in fullscreen by adding arguments such as “-fulscreen”.
Once the launcher are created , you can delete it again if you don’t see its necessity anymore. The location for deleting the launchers are also shown to the user by the application. The administrators can also create a System-Launcher accessible and usable all other users in the system.
Create Launcher is available for free in Ubuntu Software Center. You can easily install it from the Ubuntu Software Center.
