How To Quickly Switch Between Directories in Ubuntu Terminal using ‘pushd’ & ‘popd’

pushd and popd are the commands to push and pop directories from the directory stack. Using pushd , you can quickly cd into the new directories while using Ubuntu terminal saving the current directory in the memory to return at any time in future. Using popd, you can quickly return into the previously visited directories.

To quickly cd into the new directory using pushd, you have to run pushd command in the following format in the Ubuntu terminal.
Now, to quickly return back to the previously visited directory , just run the popd command in the terminal.

In this way, you can quickly switch between the directories in Ubuntu terminal using pusd and popd.
